After a car accident, it is important to have children examined by a chiropractor regardless of whether or not they are showing signs of injury.
The initial examination consists of the taking of a history of the accident.
Next, we do a visual examination of the child to check posture and palpation or the feeling of the spine and muscles for proper alignment.
Then we will do orthopedic or neurological testing. We will adjust our technique depending on the age of the child. We may use more of a light touch to gently realign the spine or we use an instrument, which is also very gentle.
When determining the ongoing care and treatment plan for a child, it depends on how the child is responding. This will determine the frequency of the treatments and which techniques are used.
